Better coach parking urged in Wrexham
A lack of coach parking facilities is leading to the town of Wrexham missing out on tourist trade, according to local traders.
The Wrexham Town Centre Forum believes that coach companies are bypassing the town, and traders are now asking Wrexham Council to consider creating a coach-only car park for private coaches, similar to the one that previously existed in nearby Llwyn Isaf.
Councillor William Baldwin, who represents Little Acton and runs a barber shop in the town centre, was asked to look further into attracting coach companies to the town by improving the parking facilities.
There are facilities for coaches to drop off passengers at Stand One in the Kings Street Bus Station within the town, according to Wrexham town centre manager Isobel Watson.
However, a member of the Wrexham Town Centre Forum argued that the facilities should be more widely promoted and a specific parking facility should be created.
