Commuters face morning Tube chaos
North-west London was hit by a catalogue of problems on the Underground as commuters started their working week.
Thousands were left facing numerous suspended or delayed lines on Monday due to engineering work that overran from the weekend.
The Metropolitan line was the worst hit with no trains running between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate, and services were suspended during rush-hour on the Jubilee line between Stanmore and Willesden Green.
Passengers were unable to ease their journey worries on the Piccadilly line which was also suffering from severe delays between South Harrow and Uxbridge, and Overground Euston-bound trains were running late due to a signal failure.
London Underground chief operating officer Howard Collins said: "Engineering works to replace more than half a kilometre of track this weekend overran, which mean the Jubilee and the Metropolitan lines were part-suspended this morning.
"Our engineers are working flat out to restore services as soon as possible and rail replacement buses are running.
"I would like to apologise to passengers who were affected by the delay in services. We will be carrying out a thorough investigation into what caused the works to over-run."
