Appeal after train door was opened
An appeal has been launched to track down a man who opened a train door as it moved away from a station.
British Transport Police said that the East Coast Kings Cross to Aberdeen train was about to leave Darlington station at the time.
The incident took place on January 19 at around 4.30pm in the afternoon. It was captured on CCTV and an image of the suspect has now been released.
Once train staff realised the door was open they had to stop the train unexpectedly. Passengers saw their plans disrupted while they waited 15 minutes for normal service to resume.
Pc Tanya Rickard said: "This was a reckless act which could have quite easily resulted in someone being badly injured in addition to causing unnecessary delays to hundreds of passengers."
