You no longer have to carry large amounts of cash around or print a receipt in order to buy your ticket onboard the coach.

Our brand new mobile ticketing service allows you to book, manage and use your tickets with your smartphone, tablet or even your PC.

Once you have purchased your ticket, simply display it on your device, send your mobile the ticket via SMS or (if you havent a smartphone or tablet) email yourself the ticket so you can print it.

In order to use the ticket - scan the barcode/qrcode on the small scanner device located near the entrance to board the coach.

You can top up your wallet to speed up future purchases when out and about too. You can have your ticket and use it within minutes!

Activation: This is a click of a button on your account on our website or in the app. To view or print a bundle ticket credit it needs to be activated first. Season tickets self activate 96 hrs before the start date.

Please note: If you use a smartphone with an internet connection there is no need to print tickets, you simply scan your ticket from your mobile device as you board.

How to use your tickets

Navigate to the ‘My Tickets’ section of your account and choose one of the 3 options below thats you best.

Please note. These options below will only be available for season tickets less 96 hrs before the start date.

  1. Click ‘Show ticket’ on your device. (For Bundles this will say 'Activate and Use New Credit')
  2. **Recommended** Click ‘Send Ticket Link by SMS’. This will send your mobile a text message with a link to view the ticket. Click on the link in the text message. Confirm activation if it’s the first time or if you need to use a new credit of a Bundle purchase.
  3. Click ‘Send E-ticket Version’. This will send a printable ticket to your registered email address.

Please note to activate and view tickets an internet connection is required.

Top Tip: For easy access of your ticket at a later time, try a screen shot of the QRcode/barcode so that you have a copy of it in your camera roll/photo library.

On-board the coach....

Display the QR code part of the ticket on your device or paper as you board the coach and place it on/near the scanner (glass area/window). When it beeps then the ticket has been scanned. The driver will let you know if it’s a successful scan (valid ticket) or not.

Q&A

What do I do with any paper tickets I still have after 6th March 2017?

If you still have our paper tickets (of any type) beyond the launch of the new system, your driver will continue to accept these until they either expire or in the case of single journey tickets, until you run out.

What ticket types will be available to purchase via the new ticketing system?

Through the new online and mobile ticketing system you will be able to purchase all current ticket types with the exception of Day Returns and Single Journeys which will be available onboard the coach via cash payment only.

There will also be a slight change to our 4-Week Season tickets which will become Monthly tickets. The price of these tickets will no longer be reduced prior to each Public Holiday. Instead we have adjusted the price to account for the eight Public Holidays each year.

The new ticketing system will also see the introduction of a 4-Day ticket.

How will the new system work for people who have a Windows phone or Blackberry?

As the new ticketing system is web-based you will be able to make purchases via any device that has access to the internet. If your device is not portable (i.e. a PC) you will need to print your ticket yourself ready for scanning as you board the coach.

What happens if I don't have a Smartphone?

The simplest way to purchase and use tickets is via a Smartphone. However as the system is web-based you will also be able to buy tickets online using any device with internet access. Once your purchase is complete you will need to print your ticket ready for scanning as you board the coach.

Please note- each ticket within a carnet of single journey or day return tickets (either a 'bundles' of 5, 10, 20 or 40) must be activated and printed no earlier than 7pm the night before travelling. Each Single Ticket expires 6 hours after activation, no earlier than 11am .All other ticket types will remain active throughout the period of validity and therefore only need to be printed once.

Please note: If you use a smartphone with an internet connection there is no need to print tickets, you simple scan your ticket from your mobile device as you board.

Will I still be able to buy paper tickets onboard the coach/ via the office/ over the phone?

All tickets will be sold via our new mobile and online ticketing system with the exception of Single Journey and Day Return tickets. Single Journey and Day Return tickets will be the only ticket types available for purchase onboard the coach and must be paid for using cash only.

What payment types are accepted via the new ticketing system?

All major credit and debit cards are accepted including Visa, MasterCard and Maestro.

Please be aware that there is a charge for processing credit card payments.

Can I still pay for my tickets using a company cheque/BACS payment?

Yes, you can still purchase your ticket using a company cheque or BACS. Once the funds have cleared we will update your online 'wallet' with the funds to allow you to make your purchase.

When making payment please use the email address or mobile phone number you have registered with us as a reference so that your payment is correctly allocated.

Do I need Wi-Fi on my Smartphone to be able to access tickets already purchased online/ via the app?

You will need internet access to view tickets online or via the app using your Smartphone. However, you can opt to screenshot your activated ticket and save it to your photo library.

What do I do if my phone battery dies or I forget my phone?

All passengers must carry a valid ticket to travel on Kings Ferry services. If you do not have a valid ticket on your person you must purchase either a Single or Return Journey ticket via your driver using cash.

If you think you are likely to forget your Smartphone or fail to charge it you can always keep a printed copy of your ticket in your purse/ wallet as a backup.

Please note- as confirmed above each ticket within a carnet of single or day return tickets must be activated and printed no earlier than 7pm the night before travelling. Each Single Ticket expires 6 hours after activation, no earlier than 11am.
