Prime Minister thanks team from coach operator, The Kings Ferry
It’s not every day you receive a personal letter from the Prime Minster but that’s exactly what happened to coach drivers from The Kings Ferry. Following his success in last month’s election, the new Prime Minister David Cameron wrote to each member of The Kings Ferry team who worked on the ‘Conservative Battle Buses’ to thank them for their hard work on the campaign trail.
The Conservative Party employed three executive VIP coaches operated by The Kings Ferry for the month preceding the election on 6th May 2010, and all three coaches were completely wrapped with the campaign brand ‘Vote for Change’. A team of seven drivers transported David Cameron and his team on a fast-paced tour up and down the UK, travelling through the night to maximise opportunities to meet and talk to voters.
"We were delighted to win such a prestigious contract," said Danny Elford, commercial director for The Kings Ferry. "It was a really intense campaign to work on and I’m proud of the hard work and effort our team put in. We were thrilled to each receive a letter from the new Prime Minster."
The Kings Ferry is renowned for the comfort, style and amenities onboard its VIP coaches, however further enhancements were made to provide a private lounge area for those high profile meetings on the move.
Coach Hire Connections, The Kings Ferry’s sister company specialising in coach travel management, sourced coaches from other operators as needed, including during the Northern Ireland leg of the campaign. All vehicles supplied were executive spec, providing a consistent level of quality and onboard services.
