Football fever for The Kings Ferry
Kings Ferry Coach Hire is celebrating a double promotion after Gillingham Football Club took its place back in League One and Birmingham City was promoted to the Premier League.
The Kings Ferry coach hire in Kent supplied 60 coaches for local Gillingham supporters to see their team play against Shrewsbury Town at Wembly Staduim on Saturday 23rd May. The supporters were not disappointed as The Gills delivered an outstanding one-nil performance with a header from Simeon Jackson taking the team into League One.
The Kings Ferry provides coach hire services to 13 football clubs including Birmingham City Football Club, who also had a great weekend after being automatically promoted to the Premier League earlier this month.
Dave Taylor, head of corporate services at The Kings Ferry, has been driving the players and managers of Gillingham Football Club since the 1980s, so Saturday's win was also a great day for him: "The Gills play a big part in my life, so it was absolutely fantastic that we got the win and made it into League One."
Five lucky competition winners also got to see the action as The Kings Ferry teamed up with The Medway Messenger to give away free tickets and transport. To have a chance of winning, entrants had to answer the following Gills related question: 'Who is The Gills' assistant manager?' Of course the answer was Scott Barrett and five lucky winners were drawn.
"It's a fantastic result for both teams," said Ian Fraser, operations director at The Kings Ferry. "We are so proud to have played even a small part in the success of all our clubs and our drivers play a key role in delivering transport needs. We wish all our clubs every success for the coming season."
