Soccer Aid Transfer Double
The Kings Ferry was once again chosen as the coach provider to transfer both celebrity teams to this year's Soccer Aid event at Old Trafford. They provided two VIP coaches which were completely wrapped in the respective team colours.
The teams, featuring such stars as Mike Myers, Woody Harrelson, Zinedine Zidane Robbie Williams and Teddy Sheringham, had three days training at Fulham’s Motspur Park. They then made the long journey north, relaxing in the comfort of two VIP coaches.
The Kings Ferry supplied the coaches for the previous match in 2008 organised to raise money for UNICEF.
"We were delighted to once again be awarded the contract for this year’s Soccer Aid and play our part in such a worthwhile event’ said Ian Fraser, operations director for The Kings Ferry.
At the end of full time the score was tied at 2-2 so the match went to a dreaded penalty shoot out! After a staggering round of penalties the rest of the world finally triumphed over England who had won the previous two matches in 2006 and 2008.
