The Kings Ferry is poised to help stranded choristers reach home for Christmas
An executive coach from The Kings Ferry will be waiting at Heathrow Airport this Christmas to provide transport back to Cambridge for sixteen young choristers who have been stranded in the States by the snow.
Sixteen Choristers aged from nine to thirteen from Jesus College, Cambridge are desperate to be home for Christmas.
After taking part in a 10-day singing tour of the East Coast of America, the children were due to fly into Heathrow last weekend. However, their British Airways flight from Washington DC was one of many cancelled as a result of the snow and freezing temperatures which closed the UK airport.
Now the children are re-booked on a flight due to land at Heathrow either on Christmas morning or, as they are hoping, on Christmas Eve. Some of these children have never been away from home for so long and many have been tearful at the thought of missing Christmas with their families.
Once the flight does land, they can rest assured that their onward travel is poised for action. A Kings Ferry luxury 53-seat executive coach with central heating, hot drinks and extended legroom has been booked to take them from Heathrow back to their school in Cambridge.
“We are waiting to confirm exactly when the children will be flying in and are hoping that they do not suffer any further disruption with their new flight plans,” said Ian Fraser, operations director at The Kings Ferry. “We will then be ensuring that their journey on from Heathrow is both as smooth and comfortable as possible. We will do all we can at our end to ensure that the final leg of their journey occurs without delay to bring them home on Christmas Day or before."
