The Kings Ferry supplies transport for local heroes

The Kings Ferry Limited supplied hire coaches to local Normandy Veterans for their annual trip to York.
George Batts, secretary of the south eastern branch of Normandy Veterans, contacted The Kings Ferry for help to provide a hire coach for the trip. After Ian Fraser, operations director, learnt of the lack of funds the Veterans had he offered the Veterans a 49 seat executive hire coach for their trip free of charge.
"When I learned that local Normandy Veterans were looking for a coach to take them on their annual trip I was more than happy to offer help," explains Ian Fraser, operations director at The Kings Ferry. "We mustn't forget what these incredible guys have done for us."
The Veterans left for their trip this morning, Friday 17th July, and before heading to York, they will stop off at the National Arboretum Memorial in Alrewas, Staffordshire. On Saturday 18th July they'll make their way to York and spend the weekend at a memorial service and parade at York Minster, then enjoy entertainment at the Imphal Barracks. The Veterans will return to Kent on Monday 20th July.
"I would like to thank The Kings Ferry for its generosity in supplying the coach," said George Batts. It's so magnanimous and appreciated - without this, we would not be able to attend the events. We are all really looking forward to it."
