Coach travel tops air travel as The Kings Ferry saves Fulham FC
The Kings Ferry came to Fulham FC's rescue when the team was stranded in the UK due to all flights being grounded by the volcanic ash cloud in the skies above Europe.
Fearing the team would not make their crucial Europa League semi final match against Hamburg FC, the team's management turned to their regular supplier The Kings Ferry to get them to Hamburg, Germany for the match on Thursday 22nd April.
The decision to travel to Hamburg by coach was made on Monday 19th April and The Kings Ferry took care of all arrangements for the team and management, supplying two VIP team coaches and even arranging Channel tunnel crossings.
The coaches collected the team from their training ground, Motspur Park on the afternoon of Tuesday 20th April and the round trip to Germany began.
"It was really important for us to do all we could to get Fulham over to Hamburg for the match," said Ian Fraser, operations director of The Kings Ferry. "As their journey already suffered a hitch with the cancelled flight, we wanted to do all we could to make sure the journey with us went as smoothly as possible. We're pleased everyone was happy with our service."
The team arrived safely in Hamburg for the match on Thursday and were able to fly home the following day due to the flight ban being lifted. The Kings Ferry also supplied five coaches for loyal UK supporters so they could cheer on their team in Hamburg.
