Land Girls enjoy the Queen's tea and The Kings Ferry

The Kings Ferry Coach Hire Company recently transported a group of former Land Girls when they were invited to Buckingham Palace to have tea with the Queen.
Four 49 seat hire coaches were supplied by The Kings Ferry on the 21st October. The hire coaches collected the Land Girls from the Royal Opera House and transported them to Buckingham Palace. The Kings Ferry coaches for hire waited inside the inner courtyard while the Land Girls enjoyed a spot of afternoon tea the Queen. At the end of the afternoon the coaches took the Land Girls back to various London train stations where they made their way home.
The trip was organised by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for the women who helped keep Britain supplied with timber and food during World War II.
Operations director of The Kings Ferry, Ian Fraser, thought the day was a wonderful treat for the former Land Girls: "The drivers said the girls were in high spirits when they left Buckingham Palace; they really loved meeting the Queen and I hope their journey made the day extra special."
