The Kings Ferry to sponsor Ride2Recovery charity challenge
Coach operator, The Kings Ferry Ltd, is proud to be supporting the Ride2Recovery charity challenge by supplying coach transport for the event free of charge.
Ride2Recovery will see 25 young men cycle 600 miles in six days, from London to Morzine in the French Alps in May 2009. Motivated by a tragic, unprovoked knife attack that left their good friend Oli Hemsley paralysed last summer, the troupe is out to raise awareness about knife crime and to raise money for two UK spinal injury charities.
The team will be met by a Kings Ferry coach at Dover on 24 May, where they will all travel by ferry to Dieppe. The coach will then take the team to their hotel in Dieppe, where they will begin the French leg of their journey.
Speaking about the sponsorship, event organiser and brother of Oli Hemsley, Will Hemsely, said: "We are extremely pleased to have the help and support of The Kings Ferry. It is through the generosity of businesses that enables the planning and logistics of events like Ride2Recovery to become a reality and we are extremely grateful to have such support from The Kings Ferry. Their generosity has ensured that all our participants can make it to the starting point of our French leg in good time and with minimum hassle."
Ian Fraser, operations director for The Kings Ferry, says the company was immediately supportive of the idea: "It’s not every day we get approached to support such an impressive initiative to raise money for and awareness of what is a truly important cause. We are delighted to be able to supply the necessary coach transport for this feat, and we wish the team every success."
