4 great London spots to visit in the sun

4 great London spots to visit in the sun

As we approach the end of April, now is the time for Brits to consider dragging that old BBQ out of the shed and visiting some of the country’s many outstanding parks.

It’s also a great time to explore some of the extraordinary summer attractions London has to offer. Whether you want to explore lush green parks or put your feet up at a unique cinema experience, the capital has plenty of amazing options to choose from.

What’s more, getting to the city does not need to be expensive. Coach tickets are available for affordable prices in advance. There are services throughout the week, too, which is perfect if you want to see two or more of these summer hotspots and make it a weekend trip.

Hyde Park

As one of the most popular green spaces in the capital, Hyde Park attracts visitors all-year-round, but especially in the summer months.

Covering 350 acres and featuring a host of incredible landmarks such as Speakers’ Corner and the Diana, Princess of Wales Fountain, visitors will have plenty to look forward to in this majestic corner of London.

You can even take part in boat rides, cycling and tennis among other activities, making the park ideal regardless of whether you want to put your feet up or try out something more physically demanding.

Kew Gardens

As London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kew Gardens attracts visitors from all over the world and houses the biggest living plant collection on the globe.

With over 14,000 trees and more than 30,000 different plant types, it would take more than a day to explore the complex in its full glory. If there are particular species you’re interested in, be sure to pick up a guide. Otherwise, feel free to curiously wander around the beautiful collections. Don’t miss the Treetop Walkway either, as the views across the city are breathtaking.

Rooftop Cinema

We’re all used to seeing outdoor cinemas in the movies, but you can now experience one for yourself with London’s Rooftop Film Club.

Both the Bussey Building in Peckham and Roof East in Stratford are showing classic and new films above the city's streets, with wireless headphones and adjustable deckchairs provided to create a comfy experience unaffected by any outdoor noise.

Tickets are available now for screenings starting in May, with the schedule set to be updated throughout the summer.
