While the dreary winter weather is likely to leave people feeling a little down, the spring season will be here next month, hopefully bringing with it milder weather and less rain.
Although we can never bank on Britain’s unpredictable weather in the warmer months, Brighton has a charming summery vibe all-year round, even when the climate lets us down.
With a reputation for excellent independent businesses and a laid-back vibe, it is easy to see why thousands of Brits head down to the south coast every spring and summer.
It’s a far cry from many of the UK’s busy city centres, with an idyllic coastline replacing the high-rises seen elsewhere. What’s more, there are plenty of great activities to enjoy as well, making it a fantastic destination for a weekend away.
Areas such as the picturesque Royal Pavilion and the legendary pier make for excellent photo opportunities. The pier in particular is simply stunning during sunset and sunrise, while there are plenty of great bars and restaurants nearby.
Lovers of the outdoors will also have plenty to look forward to in Brighton, including the excellent Devil’s Dyke, offering a glorious view over Brighton’s delightful countryside. Preston Park is another fantastic option and is the perfect place for a picnic.
However, Brighton is perhaps best known for its art scene and boasts several galleries and venues serving up the latest music, plays and exhibitions. The Brighton Dome and Brighton Centre are two of the most popular places in the area and attract some of the biggest names in music and entertainment, while the Theatre Royal’s schedule is packed with the best new shows on the theatre circuit.
What’s more, Brighton’s excellent museums provide plenty of extraordinary artefacts for visitors to enjoy, including the Old Police Cells Museum and the Hove Museum and Art Gallery. Both of these offer a great insight into the history of the area and show its growth over time.
In order to make the most of your trip, it is perhaps best to use a coach rather than dealing with the significant traffic seen close to the south coast. Along with saving the hassle of driving, you will be able to take advantage of a guaranteed seat, free Wi-Fi and a selection of different departure times for your convenience.
By choosing a coach, you can create a trip to suit your own needs whether you visit for a day, a weekend or even longer.
