London is a city that boasts a rich history when it comes to music entertainment, having spawned a number of hugely successful bands and staged many of the best events through the decades.
And there is plenty of top-class entertainment to look forward to this summer, including a brand new event that will raise some much-needed funds for a very worthy charitable cause.
Organised by music producer Mark Ronson - who is perhaps most famous for his association with the late Amy Winehouse - the first annual Other Ball will raise money for Arms Around the Children, a charity that is dedicated to providing "safe, loving homes for children living in adversity".
The line-up for the show is hugely impressive and features Rudimental, Florence and the Machine, and Lily Allen, among others.
Ronson, unsurprisingly, is already looking forward to the event, saying: "I'm deeply honoured to be involved in the Other Ball London."
He added: "It is a privilege to be able to help Arms Around the Child help children living in extreme adversity find the love and caring of others that most of us take for granted every day."
The venue for the show has yet to be confirmed but it promises to be a great night's entertainment for a very worthy cause.
It's worth noting, though, that there is plenty of other music entertainment to enjoyed in London over the coming months.
At the O2 Arena, for instance, a number of the world's biggest stars are set to perform at the iconic venue.
Perhaps the best-known of these will be Dolly Parton and Katy Perry, both of whom are sure to provide great fun for their legion of fans.
What's more, you can turn the event into a really fun day out by heading into one of the many bars and restaurants dotted around the O2.
