Halloween is nearly upon us once again and if you’re fed up of the kids having all the fun, then there’s plenty for adults to also enjoy in Kent this year. Gather together a group of your grown-up friends, hire a coach and head off to one or more of the following events for spooky fun galore.
Go on a ghost hunt at Crabble Corn Mill
What could be creepier than a historic 19th-century mill after dark?! Crabble Corn Mill is still operational, so it’s not surprising that strange creaking sounds can be heard and that’s before you get to the added frights that are being put on especially for Halloween. There will be surprises on each level of this adults-only tour, complete with in-character actors.
Join in the fun on October 27th from 9pm for £12 per person.
Experience the Hauntfest at Broadditch Farm
There’s all the vampires, ghosts and monsters you would expect at Broadditch Farm this Halloween, but with an added twist. There is a cannibal family on the loose and they’re keen to sate their appetite for human flesh. Visitors will have to navigate the property’s five mazes in order to run, hide and escape a bloody end.
Hauntfest is being held throughout October, but it’s best to book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. They are priced at £10 each.
Go to extremes at Fort Amherst
Halloween Horrors at Fort Amherst has built up a reputation over the years for taking things to the extreme. Its annual event is always innovative and full of surprises, dreaming up scary scenarios that push the boundaries. Think of the best horror films you’ve seen and you might get the idea. Who knows what this year’s incarnation will involve?!
Halloween Horrors runs from October 26th to 31st and costs £16.50 on the door.
See Dreamland become Screamland
Dreamland Margate may ordinarily be the place where lovely childhood memories are made, but not for six days this October. Dreamland is set to become Screamland, with scare mazes, a sleep experiment and something called Mary decomposed. Visitors can rise the amusements at night, access the Prop Store and see a totally different side to this famous Margate attraction.
Plan a visit to Screamland on October 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th, 27th or 31st for £15 per person.
