London has some world-class Christmas markets to discover, so set the present wrapping aside and forget about planning the Christmas dinner for just one day. It’s time to enjoy some fun with your loved ones. In the run up to the big day, there’s lots to do, but there’s also some fantastic activities, so be sure to factor in space for these too.
Southbank Centre Winter Market - until December 27th
The Southbank Centre’s exceptional location, right next to the River Thames, gives its winter market an extra special edge. As well as the sparkling lights and seasonal treats, the event will be hosting two new pop-ups: Bar Under the Bridge and The Circus Bar. The first will be the place to go for cheese-based food and classic cocktails, while the latter will see hot baguettes and mulled wine served around fire pits.
Christmas Canopy Market at King’s Cross - until December 16th
Make your way to King’s Cross this festive season for a covered market that’s got a bit of everything. Finish off the last of your Christmas shopping with a selection of handmade gifts, or even a record for the music fan in your life, before enjoying some delicious artisan food from the stalls on site. The organisers have even provided a heated seating area, so there’s no need to balance your tasty treat in frozen hands as you wolf it down.
Blackhorse Workshop Christmas Market - December 14th
When it comes to buying gifts from designer-makers then Blackhorse Workshop is a must-visit. Packed full of items made locally, there’ll be so much choice you’ll find it hard to decide what to get for your loved ones. And, after completing that task, you can spoil yourself with a luxury hot dog or tempting plate of jerk chicken.
Maltby Street Christmas Night Market - until December 21st
Forget about getting presents for other people and get yourself into a festive mood at Maltby Street Market in Bermondsey. The food is the star of the show, with some of the finest examples of seasonal favourites on offer, all washed down with large helpings of mulled wine. And if that’s not enough to make you feel Christmassy, then the carol singers certainly will.
Get everyone to and from the market with ease
Whichever Christmas market you choose, the easiest way to get everyone there and back is by hiring a coach. Check out the options and find the one that's the right size to transport your party.
