Here are 4 of our favourite theme parks in the UK and what you can expect for 2019:
Season starts: 23rd March 2019
Alton Towers is the UK's number one theme park and last year saw over 2.3 million visitors. This year will see the expansion of their holiday village with the new stargazing pods. These minimalist themed pods are perfect for families, couples and friends who love escaping to the great outdoors.
The new ride for 2019 is the Alton Towers Dungeon, a hilariously hideous journey through Staffordshire's darkest history! You'll be sentenced by the Bishop of Stafford, battle to survive the plague, endure the Torturer and come face to face with the Witch of Burslem's ghost!
There really is something for everyone at Alton Towers. If the Dungeon is too scary for you, there's plenty of other rides that will have you screaming of joy. For the thrill seekers you've got last year's ride Wicker Man, the UK's first new wooden coaster built in over 20 years, along with the classic thrill rides such as Oblivion, Nemesis and Rita. For some family fun there is the Runaway Mine Train which twists and turns, getting faster and faster, the Frog Hopper and the good old family favourite, Congo River Rapids. For the little ones, they will have lots of fun in CBeebies Land. They can enjoy a magical boat ride with In The Night Garden, help Postman Pat with his Parcel Post ride and cause lots of chaos in Justin's House Pie-O-Matic Factory.
