Take a Taste Tour of the UK

Now that summer is here, it’s the perfect excuse to feast your senses on new sights, sounds and smells. A tour of the UK will take you to places you’ve never been before and experiences you never knew existed!
As a nation of foodies, our beloved country is full of local delicacies that will have your taste buds tingling. Taste your way around the UK with these local delicacies, if you’re brave enough.

Haggis Taste Tour of the UK

Where can you find it? Everywhere in Scotland
The secret ingredients… Sheep’s heart, liver and lungs minced with onion, oatmeal and spices.
You’ll love it… if you can get past the mental barrier of eating a sheep’s heart. Our Managing Director Ian loves it (albeit he’s a Scotsman), but it’s definitely worth a try if you’re in the area. They even do a veggie version!

Welsh Rarebit ‘Rabbit’

Welsh Rarebit Taste Tour of the UK

Where can you find it? Everywhere in Wales
The secret ingredients… Cheese, eggs and milk – not a rabbit in sight!
You’ll love it… it’s the most famous Welsh dish of them all. Imagine the warm cheese sauce poured over a slice of toast, sound familiar? That’s because it is, it’s known as the posh cheese on toast and it’s delicious!

Eton Mess

Eton Mess Taste Tour of the UK

Where can you find it? England
The secret ingredients… Strawberries, meringue and whipped cream.
You’ll love it… this dish can’t go wrong. This summer dessert is a delicious concoction of broken sweetness all mixed together to make one yummy delicacy.

Pie, Mash & Liquor

Pie Mash Eels and Liquor Taste Tour of the UK

Where can you find it? East London
The secret ingredients… Beef pie, mashed potato, eels and parsley liquor.
You’ll love it… it’s the product of the pie and eel farmers joining forces back in the day. Although, the parsley liquor isn’t actually alcoholic and contrary to the myth it’s not made from eel water either – we don’t think!

Devon Cream Tea

Devon Cream Tea Taste Tour of the UK

Where can you find it? Devon
The secret ingredients… Tea, scones, clotted cream and jam.
You’ll love it… but only if you do it the Devon way. The clotted cream goes on first then you add the jam. If you do it the other way round then you’ve got yourself a Cornish Cream Tea.
