The Kings Ferry has been appointed first team transport provider for the Greek team, Olympiakos, in their latest European fixture

The Kings Ferry continues to be the coach provider of choice for visiting European teams to the UK. On Wednesday 3rd October, The Kings Ferry has been appointed first team transport provider for the Greek team, Olympiakos as they take on Arsenal in their Champions League Group B match at the Emirates.

The north London club will be expected to return to winning ways against the Greek league leaders after they were beaten 2-1 at home by Premier League pacesetters Chelsea on Saturday.

Roy Carroll, who is now playing with Olympiakos, is aiming to heap misery on Arsenal for a second time in his career – eight years after the Battle of the Buffet.

Keeper Carroll kept a clean sheet for Manchester United to help them break the Arsenal Invincibles' 49-game unbeaten run in 2004.

A wild day out for children at Demelza

The Kings Ferry, the UK's leading coach hire operator, teamed up with Merlin Entertainments to offer the children at Demelza House a fantastic day out at Chessington World of Adventures Resort.

On Sunday 2nd September, 20 families set off for an action packed day at Chessington, aboard a luxury coach supplied by The Kings Ferry and with free entrance tickets, kindly donated by Merlin Entertainments.

The families were given the opportunity to explore the theme park, taking in everything from the new SEA LIFE Centre experience, featuring sharks, rays and parrot fish, to the exciting 'Trail of the Kings' with lions, tigers and gorillas. For the daring few – rollercoaster rides and fast-moving attractions were the highlight of the day.

"It was a great pleasure to take these 20 children and their families to Chessington for a special day out." commented Danny Elford, Commercial Director at The Kings Ferry.

"Offering parents and carers a bit of respite, and seeing so many happy faces at the end of the day made it an extremely rewarding experience. We're proud to have played a part in this wonderful event."

Suzie Gildon, Business Development Manager from Merlin Entertainments agreed: "Providing these children and their families with a fun-filled day out at one of our premier theme parks is something we're extremely proud of – it really was a great day for all of us."

Guess who we had on board?

A host of big names have travelled with us during the London 2012 Games. One Direction, Sir Paul McCartney's Family, The Spice Girls and The Who have all used our services during the Olympics, most notably for the closing ceremony.

As you can understand, we cannot reveal details of these journeys before the event as such high profile clients would attract attention.

The stars were all great company and Kevin Bardle one of our VIP drivers pointed out how down to earth the One Direction lads were. "They settled in the rear lounge and looked relaxed, they were really friendly and shook my hand as they left".

Maybe we should have had a Kings Ferry coach in the closing ceremony as we were such a major part of it ...and of British culture.

The guitarist and singer of one of the most influential bands ever made his own way there but entrusted us with members of his closest family. The Opening Ceremony of the Games was well received and Sir Paul sang Beatles hits late into the night rounding of a great day for London and Great Britain.
